Gender identity

A person who struggles with gender identity is confused about their gender. They may wish they had been born the opposite sex, since they identify with the opposite gender more than their own. As parents, what do you do when your child expresses confusion about his or her gender? First, don’t panic. Be prepared to explore with your child the thoughts and feelings behind their suggestion that they may be a homosexual or a lesbian.
